I had a lady call and say she was with Century Link and that she could save us $40 a month. I said sure since your with my current phone company.

She said she needed to ask me some questions and she asked me what a third party confirmation person would ask. I answered all her questions and was pleased with Century Link since they were saving me $40 a month. A few weeks later I received a bill from Birch Communications. I contacted Century Link and they confirmed that my service had been switched to Birch Communications.

I had Century Link get my service switched back.....then I called Birch Communications and informed them that I would not be paying this bill as I did not agree to switch. The man said he would play back the third party confirmation call and he did it was not the lady that asked me the questions it was a recording and on numerous times said they were Birch Commuications with my voice answering the questions that the lady asked.....However, she failed to mention Birch Communications. They are total loser scammers.

I now have a early termination bill in the amount of $1,750. This company needs to be brought to an end and these people jailed.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Jan 2017, the were ordered to pay 6.1 million after the FCC went after them. 1.9 million of that judgement will be repayments to customers they ripped off.

I received a call at my place of employment today from a gentleman stating he wanted to speak with the office manager regarding our March invoice. The call was placed on mute accidentally, rather than on hold.

The gentleman again called back and asked to speak withe the office manager, I informed him no one was available at this time to which he responded, "then *** say that and don't just hang up." He then hung up on me. I contacted centurylink to file a complaint and they did not have any record of a phone call to my office. I then received ANOTHER call from a woman stating she was calling regarding our centurylink march invoice.

I asked her several questions and she stated she was with Birch communications. She was extremely rude that I would not give the phone to the officer manager as I could tell that this was a scam at this point.

This almost happened to me at my business. I went through half of the verification third party questions before I realized it was a scam.

Received the same call today. Scam, scam, SCAM.

Fortunately the call rep made a mistake in her lies and another person was monitoring and had to come on the line to get the confirmation needed to switch over the business. BTW it's a three year contract you're verbally signing if they get you!

Exact same thing happened to me, and they almost made me lose my job. I lost nights of sleep over this, they plain out tricked me.

I cannot believe that this is legal.

Total Losers, I would like to blast them everywhere on the internet for their horrible forceful and aggressive tactics and trickery.

Follow Up: I called Century Link as soon as I ended the call with this "Birch" company and flagged my account through the billing department for NO CHANGES due to a 3rd Party Scam Call. Century Link confirmed if any changes are made by that company without my authorization, they will cancel any changes, and not charge me any fees because I've advised NO CHANGES. Cover your behind and Call Century Link to Let them KNOW RIGHT NOW!

I rec'd a call at our business today offering the same thing. Before the provided me a "confirmation number" this transaction I stopped them and asked if the bill would still be coming thru Century Link, she stated "no, century link will bill us and we will bill you" at that time I declined to complete the process. Sounded fishy when the talk so fast that you just listen and when you don't agree or say anything, they make it sound like it is happening no matter what, you're just being provided an "information call".
